Small series production in prototyping

Launching new technologies onto the market can be very profitable, but it is also a huge responsibility. That is why companies first develop prototype products. This often involves multiple attempts to eliminate flaws and improve the product, which requires significant financial outlays. Therefore, in order to minimise expenses, companies often take advantage of the opportunities offered by small series production.

It allows to make significant savings in prototyping and launching new products and technologies, primarily because it uses significantly less expensive materials than the ones which will be used to manufacture the main product. The two most commonly used methods for producing elements are molds and 3D printing.

At present, molds are used less frequently due to the fact that large amounts of materials are needed to produce them, and there is a high risk that the produced components will differ from each other and will not fit well together.

Printing 3D elements significantly minimises these two risk factors. This is a fully computerised process, which allows to produce perfect prototype elements. This enables to create a model that is very close to the target product and carry out accurate product testing. 3D printing is also a faster process than creating molds, which is also important for improving the testing process of products which are to be quickly launched onto the market.

Prototypes created this way can be used in the production of small and large electronic products, motor vehicles, and even next-generation medical implants.
